Nicholls and Uttinger Civil have completed the Matamata-Piako District Council's shared pathway project known as Morrinsville Rec Perimeter Path. The pathway project took place from September to November 2023 and was opened to the public on 10 December 2023.
Our experienced road construction team prepared this generational asset by removing topsoil, compacting and preparing the durable concrete surface.
The 950m long, 3m wide shared path is designed for all ages, stages and abilities, with the community able to walk, run, bike, scoot or skate along once completed. It will also be accessible for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and prams.
The new path will connect to existing paths and the river walk to create a loop for residents and visitors to enjoy.

There were many changes made to the original design as we progressed so there was a relatively high dollar value in variations, but that was through no fault of the contractor.
