Nicholls and Uttinger Civil have been selected by the Waikato District Council to repair two major road slips near Port Waikato.
Severe rainstorms in 2023 caused significant damage to Port Waikato-Waikaretu Road, prompting the need for extensive road repairs
Two work sites have commenced in October 2024. The first site involves construction of a timber retaining wall with piles up to 6m deep.
The second site requires a road realignment, including approximately 4000m3 cut to waste, a rock rip rap buttress fill, a mangnumstone retaining wall, drainage upgrades and full road reconstruction.
